Rivers State Governor Vows to Fight for Victory in 2023 Election, PDP to Win All Seats

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and the State’s PDP governorship candidate, Siminialayi Fubara, wave at supporter during the Local Government Campaign Flag-off rally of the Party in Omoku Town on Monday, 16 January 2023.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has declared that the 2023 general election in the State will be a crucial moment for the electorate to decide against those who hate the State.

Speaking at the Local Government Campaign Flag-off rally of the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Omoku Town, Governor Wike emphasized that the PDP has previously won governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives, and State of Assembly seats in past elections and that this trend will continue in the upcoming election.

He also pointed out that certain local government areas in the State, such as Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Abua/Odual, Ahoada East, and Ahoada West, were abandoned to their fate during a flooding event last year, and used this as an example of those who do not have the State’s best interests at heart.

“That is how you know those who hate Rivers State, that is how you know those who love us. If you hate Rivers State, we will not give you our vote. We will only give our vote to those who love Rivers state.

“You have to listen to your leaders through the DG (director general) of the campaign. They will come back to you, sit you down and tell you where we are heading to.

“It is a fight to finish. Do not be afraid. We are going to win at the end of the day. You know that we have always won. We will continue to win.

“We have never failed in anything we have told you. Success has always been with us. God has been with us. This time is not going to be different. God will continue to lead us.”

Governor Wike urged the people not to listen to candidates and leaders of other political parties who may come to them to solicit their votes, stating that these individuals have failed to fulfill promises and deliver development projects in the past.

He implored the people to repeat the level of support they gave to the PDP in 2015 and 2019 in order to consolidate the accomplishments of his administration.

He also highlighted specific development projects that his administration has completed or will complete in the near future, including the Kregeni to Omoku Road, the Omoku-Egbema dualisation road, and the phase two of the Ahoada-Omoku Road.

The PDP governorship candidate, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, also spoke at the rally, recounting the successes of Governor Wike’s administration and promising further development in the ONELGA area.

He urged the people to deliver overwhelming votes for the PDP and assured them that they will experience sustained peace, economic empowerment, and enhanced business opportunities.
