ASABA, Delta โ Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has reasserted his dedication to the goal of delivering clean water to rural communities within the state.

This commitment was expressed during a visit by the Steering Committee of the Nigeria Sustainable Urban-Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (SURWASH), led by Dr. Dumebi Madu, to the Government House in Asaba.
Highlighting the crucial importance of elevating sanitation and hygiene standards in rural areas, Governor Oborevwori stressed the necessity for a consistent supply of clean water.
He welcomed the committee’s one-day retreat in Asaba, recognizing its potential to generate awareness and drive impactful outcomes.
The governor further reiterated Delta State’s unwavering commitment to spearheading initiatives for enhanced water access and sanitation.
Dr. Dumebi Madu, Secretary of the Federal Steering Committee of SURWASH, elucidated the purpose of their visit: to strategize on fortifying nationwide water supply and sanitation.
Emphasizing SURWASH’s role as a World Bank-supported program, geared towards improving water access, sanitation, and hygiene across Nigeria, Dr. Madu underscored the collaborative efforts of participating states in achieving these vital goals.
