Chief Dr. George-Kelly D. Alabo, DSSRS, FNIQS, the Rivers State Commissioner for Works, has examined a number of important state projects to gauge their stage of development.

The Honourable Commissioner made several site visits for the Emohua-Kalabari Dual Carriageway and the Port Harcourt Ring Road projects.

During the inspection tour, Chief Dr. George-Kelly asserted that segments 1, 5, and 7 of the ring road project are undergoing significant work. “Demolition work has been finished on segments 1, 5, and 7, although serious work is still proceeding on these parts.

Regarding segment 5, work on the Ozuoba/Rumuosi Flyover will begin in less than two weeks, while the East-West Road Rumuosi Flyover has already begun construction. 

“They have started clearing the forest behind Indorama on segment 7, they have also expanded the road linking Refinery Junction and Indorama, soil replacement and stone base work have also started,” said the commissioner.
