President Muhammadu Buhari’s predecessor, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has been described by his cousin, Robert Azibaola, who was acquitted on Monday, May 27, by a Federal High Court, Abuja, as one who lives a life of probity and integrity.
Mr Robert Azibaola was dragged before Justice Nnamdi Dimgba over an allegation of $40 million fraud brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In celebration of his acquittal, he wrote the following appreciation.
“After nearly three years, the hands of God finally came down for me and my family today. Who else was watching than HIM who trusted Job will never curse HIM?
“It was a tortuous journey permitted by God to show me His face in times of troubles and tribulations. From the beginning, to this day, to end of time, I bear no, and will NOT bear ill feelings towards anyone. What the LORD granted and took away, HE shall restore in plenty folds at His own time.
“Let it be known to all that all through his tenure and now, my cousin lived a life of probity and integrity. I am blessed by his life, and as I said during my testimony in court, I too, have more than sufficient integrity to donate to my Motherland, Nigeria.
“I sincerely hope by the judgement of the Honourable Court today, the whole episode has been brought to a conclusive end.
“My family and I express our heartfelt appreciations to all who stood by us throughout this trial. Thank you ALL for your thoughtfulness, love and support.”
