Protest against President Muhammadu Buhari in the ancient city of Kano on Monday, 30 January 2023.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a statement condemning an alleged attack on President Muhammadu Buhari today in Kano State.

The PDP accused the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of sponsoring the attack and plotting to undermine the presidency, cause violence in the country, and disrupt the 2023 general elections.

According to the statement, the PDP is alarmed by the attack and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s attempt to restrict President Buhari’s movements in Kano.

The party claimed that Tinubu has been inciting violence against the President and accuses him of having a “entitlement mentality.”

The PDP also pointed to Tinubu’s “infamous statement in London” and his recent accusations against President Buhari at an APC Presidential Rally in Abeokuta.

The party claimed that Tinubu has established a militia code-named “the Jagaban Army” to undermine national security and disrupt the electoral process.

In conclusion, the PDP counselled Tinubu to accept the fact that Nigerians want free, fair, and credible elections and that their choice for the next President is the PDP Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar.

The statement stated that no threat can divert Nigerians from their aspirations to rescue and rebuild their nation.
