The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that the party did not suspend or expel any of its members in Ekiti State, neither has it received any correspondence from its Ekiti State Chapter to such effect.
The NWC further said, in statement circulated in Abuja on Monday, February 4, by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, that no PDP member in Ekiti state House of Assembly was expelled or suspended by any organ of the party at any level for that matter.
According to the statement: “In this regard, the following members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly are still members of the Party and any purported suspension which did not follow the laid down rules and regulations of our Party as stipulated in Section 57 of the PDP Constitution (as amended) is null and void.
- Rt. Hon. Omodara Olaposi
- Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Segun
- Hon. Anifowose Badejo
- Hon. Omotoso Olayode
- Hon. Fajana Ojo Ade
- Hon. Chief Dada Bosede
“The PDP is a creation of the law, and therefore, a law-abiding organization. Section 57 of our Constitution has the process by which a Party member could be disciplined. All organs of the party at all levels should be guided accordingly in all their activities.”
