The appointment of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala by President Cyril Ramaphosa as a member of South Africa’s Presidential Economic Advisory Council is eliciting excitement and congratulatory remarks from notable Nigerians.

One of such remarks was made by Nigeria’s former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
According to President Jonathan, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala, as a two-time finance minister in Nigeria, left indelible marks as an astute manager of the country’s economy and resources.
The former president expressed joy that Dr. Okonjo-Iweala had continued to place her substantial wealth of experience as a development economist at the service of many nations and international organisation to aid global growth and progress.

President Jonathan also expressed his belief in the ability of Dr. Okonjo-Iweala to excel in her new assignment.

I am delighted that you have continued to place your substantial wealth of experience as a development economist at the service of many nations and international organisations to aid global growth and progress.
