KADUNA, Kaduna State โ Terrorists trying to set up an ambush were found and quickly eliminated by troops amid the thick undergrowth. One terrorist was neutralised during the fierce shootout, which caused the other terrorists to disperse.
A cache of weapons, containing two AK-47 rifles, six AK-47 magazines, five rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, three hundred and thirty-one rounds of 7.62mm x 54 PKT machine gun ammunition, and two PKT machine gun ammunition links, was discovered by the brave soldiers. Three motorcycles, two sets of power generating sets, two sets of desert camouflage, and a pair of desert boots were also recovered as a result of the operation.
Chillingly, the recovered items also included leg and hand chains utilized for fastening kidnap victims, underscoring the sinister nature of the terrorists’ activities. Other seized items encompassed 9 Baofeng Radios with chargers, a Talisman vest, an International Passport, 2 Voter’s cards, and 2 National Identity cards.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, attested to the demolition of terrorist camps that were hidden along river lines. The military’s unwavering pursuit of terrorists who are on the run is a proof of its determination to end all terrorist operations and bring peace back to the area.
The Army headquarters have asked the public to maintain their vigilance throughout the operation and to report any suspicious activity to security officials. If obliged, this ensuing cooperative effort will serve as a vital reminder of the nation’s commitment to achieving long-term peace and stability in the fight against terrorism.
