New information regarding the suspected criminal activity of Apostle Theophilus Oloche Ebonyi, the General Overseer of Faith On The Rock Ministry International, has surfaced. The EFCC just arrested him.

Based on investigations, it was discovered that Ebonyi used the money he got from his fraudulent dealings with his subscribers to purchase a five-bedroom duplex at Karsana, Abuja, a 23-room hotel, a pure water plant, two blocks of a primary school, and two bungalow offices at Nyanya-Gwandara, New Karu, Abuja. Using the money from his subscribers, he also established a live broadcast channel for his Theobarth Global Foundation, complete with studio equipment.

The EFCC detained Ebonyi in 2023 on suspicion of cheating his church members and other Nigerians out of N1,319,040,274.31 (one billion three hundred and nineteen million, forty thousand, two hundred and seventy four naira, thirty one kobo) through the use of fictitious funding from the Ford Foundation.

In particular, he was detained for fraudulently advertising an intervention project through his non-governmental organisation (Theobarth Global Foundation) and falsely claiming that the Ford Foundation was providing a grant of $20,000,000.000 (twenty billion US dollars) to help the underprivileged in society. His victims included individuals, NGOs, and non-governmental organisations.

He is accused of tricking his victims into become recipients of the fraudulent award by having them pay for clusters and registration paperwork. Every subscriber had to pay One million, eight hundred thousand naira only, or N1,800,000. Ebonyi allegedly made N1,391,040,274.31 through this agreement. Across the nation, NGOs and naive Nigerians make up his subscriber base.

The Ford Foundation has no agreement, grant, connection, or business with Ebonyi, according to EFCC investigations. The Foundation made it clear that it had no connection whatsoever to him or his NGO. Five properties that he obtained as a result of his illicit activities have also been tracked down by the Commission.

It has been stated that Ebonyi continues to promote his fictitious Ford Foundation grant to his followers on various social media sites.
