Hon. Ayodele Olawanle Expresses Gratitude for Military’s Commitment to National Security

Hon. Ayodele Olawanle, the Minister of State for Youth Development, paid a heartfelt surprise visit to Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, in Maiduguri, Borno State. During the visit, he expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian Military for their unwavering sacrifices and commitment to preserving Nigeria’s territorial integrity and national security.

Hon. Olawanle conveyed his sincere gratitude to the military personnel—mostly young men and women—during his visit on January 18, 2024, for their outstanding diversity-in-unity and commitment to maintaining the country’s security and tranquilly.  He emphasized the crucial role they play, allowing most Nigerians to sleep with peace of mind while the military faces the challenges head-on.

The Minister urged fellow Nigerians to consistently appreciate the sacrifices and efforts of the military, emphasizing that recognition and support are vital in boosting their combat capability and overall efficiency.

In response, the Theatre Commander, Maj Gen Gold Chibuisi, conveyed his appreciation for the Minister’s encouraging remarks, stating that the visit was motivating for the troops. Despite the security challenges, he reassured that the military would persist in its efforts, ensuring that Nigerians can enjoy peace and conduct their businesses in a secured environment.

Gen Chibuisi highlighted the substantial progress made in addressing security challenges in Borno State but emphasized the ongoing commitment to apply more pressure on terrorists, particularly in operations to eliminate remnants. He expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit and pledged continued engagement with critical stakeholders to eradicate criminal elements in the North East and other parts of the country.

Acknowledging the strategic guidance from the federal government and the public’s support for military operations, Gen Chibuisi assured that the military would uphold proficiency and effectiveness in discharging its assigned duties.

As part of the visit, Hon Minister Olawanle toured the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital. He personally commiserated with wounded-in-action troops undergoing treatment, assuring them of the Federal Government’s unwavering support.

Dignitaries present during the visit included the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Borno State, Comrade S Buba, Chief of Staff Headquarters Theatre Command, Brig Gen A Idris, Theatre Logistics Component Commander, Brig Gen EJ Ikomi, Commander 7 Division Garrison, Brig Gen TM Opurum, Principal Staff Officers from Headquarters Theatre Command, Chief of Staff to the Hon Minister, and officials from the Borno State Ministry of Youth and Sports.
