Gov. Nyesom Wike warns manhole thieves as Ex-Gov. Olusegun Mimiko commissions Rumuola flyover in Port Harcourt.

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has warned people involved in the sabotage of manholes and other road appendages that the State Government would henceforth find and deal squarely with them.

The Governor who gave the warning at the commissioning of the dualised Rumuola Flyover recalled the scatching criticisms and inconvenience people went through follow the commencement of the project.

He explained that there is always a price to pay to achieve any great feat in life.

In his remarks Dr Olusegun Mimiko who commisioned the project as the Special Guest of the Rivers State Government applauded Governor Wike’s commitment to the welfare of his people.

He noted that his commitment is an encouragement not only to Rivers people or the Peoples Democratic Party but to Nigerians.

He observed that Governor Wike does not see government as an end but as a means to the improvement of the lives of Rivers people.

He further observed that Gov Wike doesn’t have to talk much as his works speaks for him.

He said, “even those who feel unsettled by your words and actions can’t deny the fact that you plan and deliver projects.”

On the sustainability of good leadership initiatives in Nigeria Governor Mimiko said “good projects would be sustainable when we have a good and credible electoral system.”

He said good performance of leaders would be sustained when leaders believe they hold or lose their position base on performance and not electoral malpractice.
