The Delta State Police Command has reportedly arrested an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mieyebo Victor Foupade, and a woman identified as Mrs Tope Omolola Comfort, over allegations that the officer circulated intimate videos of his wife online and threatened her life.

SaharaReporters said the matter first surfaced after the complainant, Kehinde, petitioned police authorities over alleged domestic abuse, digital humiliation and threats, while Platform Times reported that both suspects were in custody at the Ughelli Area Command as investigations continued.

According to SaharaReporters, Kehinde alleged that the videos were shared without her consent and that repeated complaints to the Ughelli Area Command did not initially stop the alleged circulation.

The report also said investigators acted only after the allegations attracted wider public attention. Platform Times likewise reported that the case drew public concern after the woman sought police intervention and protection.

SaharaReporters said the officer was alleged to have enlisted the help of the second suspect, Mrs Comfort, to continue the harassment.

The report cited voice notes and other evidence said to have been reviewed by the platform, including allegations that the officer encouraged further humiliation of his wife.

The publication also quoted the complainant as saying the crisis began in April 2026 and quickly escalated into what she described as a campaign of abuse, threats and public disgrace.

Kehinde told SaharaReporters that the dispute began after her husband’s behaviour changed suddenly, and she alleged that matters worsened after he used her phone in a way she did not understand at the time.

She further claimed that her nude videos, which she said had originally been recorded privately during the relationship, later spread online and reached members of her family.

In the report, she said the publication of the materials left her traumatised and unable to return to her community.

The woman also alleged that police intervention earlier in the dispute did not end the harassment. SaharaReporters reported that the matter had at one stage been taken before the Area Command, where both sides were advised to stay away from each other for a period, but the complainant said the circulation continued.

The same report said investigators later found evidence on the officer’s phone, according to the complainant’s account.

For its part, Platform Times reported that the Delta State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the arrests at the time of filing, and that no court had convicted either suspect.

SaharaReporters also reported that ASP Foupade denied the allegation when contacted, saying, “Please it’s not true,” while insisting that the matter arose from marital conflict.

The allegations touch several sensitive fault lines at once: domestic violence, online sexual abuse, possible abuse of office and public trust in the police.

They also raise questions about how quickly intimate-image abuse is handled when the accused is a serving officer and whether victims can obtain effective protection before material spreads beyond recall.

Those questions are especially sharp in a digital environment where once-private material can be copied, forwarded and re-uploaded in seconds.
