A number of Atiku Support groups held a unity walk in Abuja on Tuesday, the 27th of November 2018 to kick-start the presidential campaign of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections. The Unity walk which started at the PDP Headquarters in Wuse zone 5 and ended at the Atiku Presidential campaign organization in Wuse 2 had over a 1000 persons in attendance.

While addressing the members of the various groups present, the National Secretary of Turaki Vanguard, Ms Ekene Okolie noted that the unity walk was needed to sensitize the public on the policies of Atiku Abubakar and also to kickstart the campaign as INEC has lifted the ban on campaigns. Also in his address, the National President of the Progressive Youths Initiative of Nigeria, Comrade Odoh Michael noted that the unity walk was needed to promote the National acceptability of Atiku Abubakar who has become a household name in every part of the country.

 

Before the walk started, other leaders of groups who addressed leaders include Emeka Wabara, the head of administration, Street 2 Street support initiative for Atiku 2019 who noted that the huge turnout of people shows that Atiku is the choice of the Nigerians. The National Coordinator of Campaign Stream, AlozieAlozie noted that Nigerians have become tired and frustrated with life under the Buhari Administration and Atiku was the only candidate capable of fixing Nigeria at this present moment.

 

In his own address, the National leader of KpaKpando Coalition for Atiku, David Agbo commended the presence of security agencies who ensured that the unity walk was done in an orderly manner. MrAgbo further called on security to remain neutral during the elections and work for the good of the country. Other leaders to address the gathering included Hon Hyacinth of Atiku Youth Organization of Nigeria, Mrs Emmanuella Nebo of the Global campaigners for Good governance, Otunba Chris Fawoole of the Atiku Democratic Movement( ADM) among others.

 

The Walk which took place from the PDP headquarters through to the Atiku Campaign Organization was greeted with cheers and endorsement from on-looking Nigerians who also expressed their satisfaction at the choice of Atiku as the PDP Presidential candidate.

While receiving the groups at the Atiku Campaign Organization, the Director in charge of Support Groups, Hon OladimejiFabiyi, thanked the groups for the awareness walk and noted that the choice of Atiku is one that Nigerians will not regret about as Atiku will get Nigeria working again. Fabiyi further noted that the over 4000 Atiku support groups will all be accommodated into the plans of the campaign organization.
