The West African Examination Council has presented attestation certificate and confirmation of school certificate result to President Muhammadu Buhari.
That is according to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina who disclosed this on his Twitter handle, @FemAdesina, on Friday.
Mr Adesina wrote the following on Twitter: “WAEC presents attestation certificate and confirmation of school cert result to President Buhari. What will the naysayers say next?”
Buhari’s eligibility has been a subject of controversy following his refusal to furnish the Independent National Electoral Commision, INEC, with copies of his certificate, claiming instead that his original credentials were with the military.
As we speak, his candidature is a subject of litigation before a Federal High Court. Even the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had threatened to go to court over the certificate saga.
We await to see how this plays out in the coming hours.
