Adamawa State Hunters Join Forces with the Nigerian Army to Form a Combined Front Against Crime. Thursday, February 22, 2024.

YOLA, Adamawa โ€” The Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Services (NHFSS) in Adamawa State have united with the Nigerian Army in a forceful show of unity, promising unwavering cooperation to combat the criminal activities that plague the area. Announced on February 22, 2024, the partnership represents a cooperative endeavour to augment security and protect law-abiding residents, especially in isolated places where security presence is restricted.

Pledge of Support:

During a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of 23 Brigade, Gibson Jalo Cantonment in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, Mr. Aminu Hammanjoda Furo, Commander of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Services Adamawa State Chapter, expressed the organization’s commitment to promoting peace and security. Mr. Furo highlighted the readiness of the NHFSS to provide timely security information to the troops of 23 Brigade, facilitating swift responses to flush out miscreants who exploit forests as hiding spots for criminal activities.

Commendation and Collaboration:

In response, Brigadier General Paul Kefas Zawaya, the Commander of 23 Brigade, commended the hunters’ activities and assured them of the brigade’s support. Emphasizing the brigade’s dedication to wider consultation, Brigadier General Zawaya reiterated the commitment to collaborate with individuals, groups, or organizations to achieve the mandate of a peaceful society. He acknowledged the foresight of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, in ensuring the hunters complement the efforts of security agencies in combating criminalities.

Call for Neutrality and Information Sharing:

While commending the Governor’s initiative, Brigadier General Zawaya urged members of the NHFSS to uphold neutrality, fairness, and justice, emphasizing the importance of not victimizing innocent citizens. He underscored the significance of timely information sharing, urging the organization to collaborate closely with security agencies to counteract the activities of miscreants effectively.

Unified Front for a Safer Adamawa:

The visit culminated in a group photograph, symbolizing the solidarity and unified front between the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Services and the 23 Brigade of the Nigerian Army. This strategic alliance aims to fortify the state against criminal elements and create a safer environment for its residents.
