ABUJA, FCT Nigeria โ Former Governor Peter Obi has expressed his displeasure with the Federal Consumer Competition and Protection Commission’s (FCCPC) decision to close and then reopen Sahad Stores in Abuja. Obi has delivered a harsh critique of recent government actions. Obi commended the Commission for reconsidering its decision but called for a more thoughtful and constructive approach from the government.

The initial decision to liquidate Sahad Stores was questioned by Obi, who emphasised that insensitive government decisions like this add to the nation’s mounting problems. He called on the government to stop doing what he called “rascally behaviour” that is harmful to the people and to focus on finding solutions that deal with the economic crisis, unemployment, and poverty.
Obi emphasised the severe economic circumstances, citing local company closures and a decline in confidence among overseas investors. He attacked the government for policies that hurt already-existing companies and increase unemployment and poverty. In an America beset by skyrocketing inflation, starvation, destitution, and instability, Obi emphasised the necessity of conspicuous government initiatives aimed at easing the suffering of its people.
Obi urged the government to prioritise production over consumption in order to realise his “New Nigeria” agenda. Rather than relying on company closures and price-fixing tactics, he argued for the development of a productive economy that guarantees adequate output of products and services.
Obi urged the government to follow through on its pledges to create a better economy by adopting workable solutions and encouraging healthy competition rather than punitive measures, as Nigerians cry out for relief from their economic woes.
Following Obi’s criticism, there is increasing pressure on the government to reevaluate its policies and give priority to initiatives that promote prosperity, job creation, and economic growth.
