Early in the morning, around 2:40 am, the FIB-IRT carried out a well-planned attack based on timely intelligence. Many of the criminals were fatally injured in the fierce battle, and one police officer was shot.

This noteworthy accomplishment follows the February 8, 2024, neutralisation of Abubakar Wada, a Musa Wada colleague. A crucial part of getting the police to the kidnappers’ hiding place was played by Abubakar Wada. Musa Wada, also known as Sabo, was found to be the mastermind of several kidnappings that occurred for ransom in Mpape, Bwari in the Federal Capital Territory, Kagarko in Kaduna, Masaka, and Nukun Village in Nasarawa State.
Modus Operandi:
Musa Wada’s method of operation was to pick up wealthy people and use armed gangs to kidnap them, then demand ransom to bring them back.
Successful Raid and Recovered Items:
The brave FIB-IRT operatives conducted a surprise assault on the hideout located in the outskirts of Mpape Hills, resulting in the elimination of the notorious criminals. Mobile phones, several SIM cards, charms, and drugs have all been recovered from the site; these items are important pieces of evidence that will support the investigations that are still underway. The criminal group is aggressively using more weapons, ammo, and equipment, which the authorities are actively trying to recover.
