ABUJA, Nigeria โ According to Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Administration is adamant about turning Abuja into a smart city.

At the FCT Minister’s Press Corps annual media retreat in Keffi, Nasarawa State, on Sunday, Wike said this.
The minister, accompanied by Anthony Ogunleye, the Director of Press in his office, reaffirmed FCTA’s dedication to fostering an environment that benefits everyone via a variety of initiatives.
In order to build an environment that is effective, robust, and sensitive to the requirements of its residents, he explained, “it involves the integration of technology, innovation, and strategic planning.”
“We are putting health and well-being first at every stage of urban development, in addition to utilising technology breakthroughs.”
Accessible green areas, effective garbage disposal, environmentally friendly transportation, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle are just a few of the initiatives that greatly contribute to this goal.
Thus, let’s capitalise on the momentum behind President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda and the FCT Administration’s efforts to raise money in order to transform our city into a poster child for inclusive growth, sustainability, and innovation.
While the FCTA works to complete its responsibilities to the citizens, Wike urged the populace to fulfil their civic duties, which include paying taxes on time for things like ground rent, tenement rent, and utility bills.
Along with calling such acts depressing, the minister said that blatant disregard for the law, such as running red lights and driving against the flow of traffic, would no longer be allowed.
Together, let’s construct a city where the people and the government fulfil their their respective roles to improve our cherished city.
The minister urged the media to assist in spreading this message to everyone.
