ASABA, Delta State (Atlantic Post) – In response to concerns raised during the review of the Greenhouse project’s implementation, Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, has taken decisive action by forming a seven-member committee to investigate alleged claims and infractions related to the project’s management. The committee, chaired by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, will be tasked with thoroughly examining the issues surrounding the Greenhouse project.
A press release from the office of the SSG revealed that the Governor, upon receiving the interim report of the committee, has approved the immediate suspension of Hon. Omoun Perekebena Perez, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Additionally, the release stated that key officials, including Messrs Bennett Ezon-Abode Agamah (Permanent Secretary), Engr. Oki Preowei Yintareke (Assistant Director, Agricultural Engineering), and Mr. Gabriel Idiatacheko (Chief Accountant), will proceed on compulsory leave until further notice, adhering to Civil Service extant rules.
The government has also clarified that these actions are not presumptions of guilt but essential measures to maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigative processes. The primary objective is to ensure an impartial and unbiased investigation free from potential influence or interference.
The committee, led by Dr. Kingsley Emu, is expected to conduct a thorough and transparent inquiry into the management of the Greenhouse project. The Atlantic Post will closely follow developments and provide updates on the committee’s findings as the investigation progresses.
