President Muhammadu Buhari has sent condolence messages to Education Minister Adamu Adamu and State Security Service Director General Yusuf Magaji Bichi who lost their mothers, respectively.
According to a statement by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), President Buhari is saddened and deeply anguished about the death of the mothers of the two regime figures.
On Adamu Adamu, Garba Shehu said: “President Muhammadu Buhari has sympathised with the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu over the transition of his mother, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Adamu Gamawa.
“According to the President, “I am sad to know about the demise of Hajiya Fatima. My condolences to the family, government and people of Bauchi State. May her soul rest in peace.”
“Adamu’s late 106-year-old-mother fondly called “Baba,” was laid to rest in Katagum last Friday. She descended from the family of Wakilin Makaman Katagum, and was married to the late Katukan Katagum, Adamu’s father.”
On Yusuf Bichi, he said: “President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday commiserated with Yusuf Magaji Bichi, the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), on the death of his mother Hajiya Kareematu Abubakar Bichi.
“In a tribute to the late community leader and matriarch, who died at the age of 96 in Bichi, Kano State, the President said: “I am deeply anguished by the passing away of Hajiya Kareematu, an important family and community leader. She will be remembered for her untiring efforts to unite the family and promote peace in her community.”
“The President prays that Almighty Allah will receive Hajiya Bichi’s soul and grant the deceased family and friends the fortitude to bear the loss.”
