Breaking Silence: Atiku Laments Persistent Violence in Mangu Despite Curfew
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has called for swift action to end the conflict and expressed his profound grief over the ongoing killings and violence in Plateau State’s Mangu local government.
Atiku Laments Mangu Bloodshed: A Direct Attack on Peace and Unity
Atiku expressed his sorrow over the upsetting events taking place in Mangu in a heartfelt statement, even though a 24-hour curfew was in place. The senseless killing of defenceless people, the devastation of houses, and the chaos that follows are in direct opposition to the deeply held beliefs of harmony and peace that are fundamental to our country.
Security Agencies Urged to Heighten Proactiveness in Crisis Response
Atiku underlined the importance for security forces to demonstrate heightened proactiveness, particularly given the reoccurring incidences of banditry not only in Plateau but also across various regions. While expressing serious worry over the apparent lack of foresight and precautionary measures, he urged on security forces to step up and ensure the safety and well-being of civilians.
Atiku’s Appeal for Unity in the Face of Tragedy
Atiku supported peace while expressing sympathy for the victims and their families and highlighting the necessity of group actions to stop similar tragic incidents from happening again. His appeal is in line with the necessity of presenting a unified front against violence and a common goal of creating a society that is safer and more secure.
