Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused officials of the country’s electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of colluding with the main opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) to compromise the outcome of elections in Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto states.
The report stated: “From January to June 2018, over 1,300 people were reportedly killed as a result of violence between herders and settlers in Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa, Adamawa and Taraba states and about 300,000 persons were displaced.
No fewer than 1,801 persons have been confirmed killed and 50,212 others displaced in recent attacks in Plateau state.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has indicated plans to declare Sen. Jonah Jang, an Ex-Governor of Plateau State, wanted for deliberately failing to honour its invitations.
