Following the demise of Ghali Umar Na’Abba (CFR), the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, President Bola Tinubu sent his sympathies to the Na’Abba family, the administration, and the people of Kano State.
After democracy was restored in Nigeria, the late Na’Abba served as Speaker of the House Representatives from 1999 to 2003, taking over from Salisu Buhari.
In a statement released by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, President Tinubu expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of the former lawmaker and recalled the legislation, advocacy, and policy contributions the late legislator made to the nation’s development.
The President, characterising Speaker Na’Abba as a disciplined and resolute politician, also recalled his tenacious fight to preserve the operation and function of the legislative in government.
According to President Tinubu, he prays for Speaker Na’Abba’s soul to rest in peace and for consolation for those who are grieving his terrible passing.
