Notes On The Exact Map Of The Territory Over Which The LNC Seeks Self-determination/Independence Referendum

In response to the raging debate about the exact Territory over which the “Biafra” Agitation Groups seek Independence, the Secretariat of the Lower Niger Congress authorized the release to the Public of the Following Clarification on the Subject.

Here is the Exact Map of the Territory for which the Lower Niger Congress seeks Self-Determination.
This 1885 Ethnolinguistic Map of the Lower Niger Territory, which aggregates wholly, the Old Eastern and Midwestern Nigeria, Clearly Delineates the Constituent Component Nationality Groups in a manner that satisfies the First Fundamental of the United Nations Instrument on the Right To Self-Determination.

This 1885 Map contains 100% of the 1967 Eastern Region of Nigeria Territory that was Declared “The Republic of Biafra” on the 30th Day of May in 1967 as well as 100% of the 1967 Midwestern Region of Nigeria and therefore brings the vast Igbo Territories (Anioma, Ndokwa, etc) and Ijaw Territories that were in the 1967 Midwestern Region of Nigeria back into the fold of their kith and Kin in the Old Eastern Region, whilst also bringing the rest of the Southern Nigeria Minorities (so-called) including Bini, Esan, Urhobo, Itshekiri, Isoko, into the wider Lower Niger fold as a Prospective Federation of Six Broad Ethnolinguistic Groups that can easily achieve Internal Cohesion as a Bloc of 70million People who can hold their own on the Global Stage, with infinite possibilities, considering the vast Proven Human Resources added to huge Maritime and other Natural Resources.

It must be noted that each and every one of the Ethnic Nationalities in the Lower Niger or even those in the 1967 Biafra Territory is entitled to its Unfettered and Unabridged Right to Self-Determination just as the Igbo is and since the Campaign name-tag of “Biafra” presupposes the Inclusion the entirety of the 1967 Biafra, it becomes imperative to sit down with each of the Nationalities of the Lower Niger Territory and agree on whatever Proposition that may touch on their Sovereignties as well as the Modalities for advancing those Propositions. That was exactly what the LNC did.

Accordingly, Prior to the 2009 Inaugural Proclamation and Public Unveiling of the Lower Niger Congress (LNC) and between 2003 and 2009, this 1885 Ethnolinguistic Map of the Lower Niger was an Integral part of the Clear Propositions of the LNC, placed before the Thought-Leaders of the Various Nationalities in the Lower Niger by the LNC Leadership, along with Proposed the Modalities of Federating the Various Peoples of the Lower Niger Territory into a Cohesive Political Union, away from the British or Caliphate -Imposed Boundaries or the Decreed States and Geopolitical Formations, in preparation for the inevitable Reconfiguration of the Defunct Federation of Nigeria which collapsed since 1966.

More importantly, this 1885 Map was adopted by the April 27, 2015, SOLEMN ASSEMBLY OF THE PEOPLES OF THE LOWER NIGER IN PORT HARCOURT which also Mandated the Distillation of a CHARTER OF RELATIONSHIPS to codify the Understandings that will Define the Constitutional Arrangements for the Prospective Lower Niger Federation amongst other Mandates. These Painstakingly Distilled Designs would address the Externally-Engineered, Historical Misgivings, Suspicions and Inexplicable Hatred which fractured the Peoples of the Territory, manifesting on a grand scale in the 1967-1970 Biafra episode.

All the other Maps being bandied by the “Biafra Restoration” bandwagon lack these requisite Fundamentals.

Let it also be noted that the name by which the Peoples of the Lower Niger Territory will enter their Independence (if the Self-Determination Referendum being sought by the LNC so dictates), should be the Collective Decision of the Constituent Component Nationalities of the Lower Niger. The LNC has repeatedly clarified that it will support any name adopted by the Consensus of the Constituent Nationality Components, to enter their Independence, including the name, “Biafra” if that emerges as their Consensus. However until that Threshold is reached and that and that Collective Decision is taken, the LNC will focus its energies engendering internal Regional Cohesion for the Territory and, (working with it’s MNN Alliance Partners), on the urgent, humongous task of Taking Down the Imposed 1999 Constitution to end the Unitary Union of Death, Attrition and Backwardness foisted by that Constitution, and there Freeing the entrapped Constituent Component Nationalities/Blocs into Fresh Post-Nigeria Protocols amongst only Willing, Compatible Contiguities who hold human life sacrosanct and who believe that all men are born equal.
