Nigerian Army Women Get Warning on Need for Strict Adherence to DHQ Social Media Policy

The Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Command (NACWC) conducted a one day Social Media Sensitization lecture for the Nigerian Army Women Corps (NAWC) on Wednesday, 2 November 2022.

The lecture which held at the Auditorium of the Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare School in Giri, Abuja, was part of its efforts to enhance troops understanding of the importance of social media in military operations, Armed Forces of Nigeria Social Media Policy as well as dealing with the menace of fake news,

Delivering his remarks, the Acting Commander NAWC of the Corps, Colonel D.E. Adamu, urged the participants to adhere strictly to the Social Media Policy for responsible use of the platform. He further urged them to desist from the abuse of social media space.

Similarly, while delivering his lecture on the use of Social Media, Lieutenant Colonel KE Okoroji, the NACWC Acting Deputy Director Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) enlightened the participants on how best to use platforms to enhance operational security and promote the image of the Nigerian Army.

Additionally, Lieutenant CP Oteh, the Assistant Director Army Public Relations NACWC also took the participants on the practical aspect of the lecture while sensitizing them on the appropriate measures to be taken in protecting their devices from cyberattacks.

Highlights of the event were presentation of souvenirs to the Guest lecturer as well as a group photograph amongst other.
