THE funeral obsequies of Chief Etuk-Udo Sampson and the wife, Princess
Gloria is billed to flag-off in Atai Ndon Afaha-Eket in Eket Local Government
Area of Akwa Ibom State, on Sunday, April 1.
The departing royal couple are the parents of Akanimo Sampson, a firebrand
journalist and editor from the Niger Delta.
The eldest man in Akpan Ekasam House, Albert Sampson Etukudo, a retired
school principal, says his late elder brother was Abong Nung Adiahambuk,
one of the ruling royal blocs in Eket.
According to him, ”E. U. as my elder brother was popularly known and called
by all and sundry was a man of peace and passion for community service. The
wife did her best in changing the economic status of most women who crossed
her path particularly in the area of acquiring sewing skills.
”Members of our larger family, the Nung Etukudo are missing this couple who
were many things to all who encountered them”.
The ex-school principal who was speaking to some local reporters who came to
pay them a condolence visit, said God has been very merciful to the bereaved
family, pointing out that the funeral service would be conducted by The Salvation
Army, Afaha-Eket Corps.
