Defence Headquarters Refutes Accusations of High Alert Status for Guards Brigade

ABUJA, Nigeria โ€” The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has strongly denied the accusations published in an online article on February 25, 2024 by SaharaReporters. According to the article, suspicious movements in Nigeria led to the Guards Brigade being put on high alert, raising the possibility of a coup attempt. In a formal statement, Defence Headquarters rejected these allegations as wholly untrue.

The DHQ called the claims utterly untrue and advised the public to ignore them.

In response to what it deemed an unpatriotic act by Sahara Reporters, the Defence Headquarters urged pertinent security services to respond swiftly and appropriately. The DHQ further declared that it would pursue legal action in relation to the situation, refuting the accusations as having hidden agendas intended to incite unwarranted animosity in the nation.
