In a proactive move against drug trafficking, the Commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Tajudeen Aminu, has successfully intercepted and handed over a substantial quantity of Cannabis Sativa, weighing about 176 kilograms, along with the apprehended suspects, to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ogun State. The handover ceremony took place on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
Collaborative Efforts for State Security:
Representing the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Colonel Legborsi Deedum Nule, the Garrison Commander, underscored the brigade’s commitment to collaborating with other security agencies to combat crime in the state. Col Nule emphasized that the brigade would consistently strive to maintain high standards and professionalism among its troops in the execution of their duties.
Arrest and Seizure Details:
The suspect, apprehended on January 6, 2024, during a routine patrol at Olodo Imeko along the Imeko-Abeokuta road in Ogun State, was found in possession of 365 pieces of Cannabis Sativa, each wrapped to the size of a pawpaw.
NDLEA Commends Collaborative Efforts:
Commandant of the NDLEA Ogun State Command, Commander of Narcotics Jane Ibiba Odili, praised the efforts of the 35 Artillery Brigade and expressed appreciation for the collaborative stance. She urged for continued cooperation between the military, NDLEA, and other security agencies in the state to address the menace of drug trafficking.
