Governor Oborevwori Supports All-encompassing Peace Framework for Long-Term Change
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has initiated an ambitious project titled “A Community-Centred Approach to Transforming Criminality and Violence in the Niger Delta,” which is supported by the European Union (EU), with a strong commitment to bringing in a new era of peace and prosperity. The innovative project intends to address the underlying causes of violence in the area by creating an effective community-based peace architecture.
A Strategic Assertion for Long-Term Change
Speaking at the official launch at the Government House in Asaba, Governor Oborevwori vowed to support the comprehensive peace-building platforms envisioned for the Niger Delta with unshakable support. Highlighting the crucial significance of community-based tactics, the Governor outlined his administration’s strategic objective to promote improved peace and security by multidimensional actions.
Project Funded by the EU: A Shaker of Change
The carefully designed information, skill, and attitude imparted by the EU-funded programme aims to provide the targeted communities a reinvigorated feeling of civic responsibility. The project, which is in line with Delta State’s overarching goal, aims to achieve holistic transformation through youth engagement, the creation of job opportunities through infrastructure renewal, and the restructuring of the educational system to place a greater emphasis on skill development.
