President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday condemned the dastardly attack on a funeral procession in Borno, which caused the deaths of over 60 mourners.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday held consultations with the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, and the Awujale of Ijebu Kingdom, Oba Sikiru Adetona, all in Ogun, over the security challenges in the country.
However, the President’s claim does not match the facts on ground in a country where thousands of indigenous citizens, including the daughter of Afenifere’s leader, have lost their lives in terrorist attacks by militant Herdsmen.
The PDP has expressed worry that the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Police are yet to provide answers and come clean on the unlawful invasion of the residence of Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku in violation of his constitutional immunity. The party insists that until these questions are answered, the PDP and the people of Taraba state will continue to hold the APC and the Federal Government responsible for the invasion or should any harm suddenly befalls Governor Darius Ishaku, members of his family, officials of his government or officials of their party in the state.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned in totality, the invasion of the Abuja residence of Taraba state Governor, Arc. Darius Ishaku, by police operatives alleged to have been detailed by Presidential authorities.
