Punch editorial declares Buhari government’s complacency in coronavirus crisis management unpardonable.
The Atlantic Post had, in an earlier publication today, described the said editorial as reminiscent of an August 30, 1985 editorial of The Guardian Nigerian newspaper, written about Buhari’s first regime, with the title, “The Arrogance Of Power”.
Apparently irked by a recent report by the Auditor-General for the Federation (AGF), Anthony Ayine, which further exposed the romp of government agencies in their crass breach of sundry financial regulations, The Punch in a damning editorial this Thursday says the lack of accountability in the management of the public finance in Nigeria is epidemical.
The Nigerian military has come under a severe condemnation by The Punch for their ‘’ insalubrious reputation’’. The newspaper in its Thursday editorial opinion said from all the manifest facts so far, ‘’it appears that the Nigerian military are not ready to change their ugly ways.’’
