“Ateke Tom has brought peace. Don’t see him as Ateke Tom that fought for the Niger Delta, see him as Ateke Tom, the traditional ruler, the Amayanabo of Okochiri kingdom, whose traditional duty is to make sure peace reigns in his domain,” Gov. Wike said.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Projects, Dax George-Kelly who is also the Head of Bureau For Special Projects took Governor Wike and the senators led by Bamidele Opeyemi round the site of the Law School campus project in Port Harcourt on November 23, 2021.
“You know this bunkering cannot stop; let’s be serious about it, everybody is involved. The military is involved. Police is involved. The Nigeria Civil Defence Corps is involved. If not, there is no way bunkering can continue. It’s a terrible thing,” Gov. Wike lamented.
While receiving his DAAR Man of the Year Award letter of nomination, Rivers State Gov. Wike reiterated his commitment not to abandon any project started by his administration, in order not to create problem for his successor.
Gov. Wike has in a note of caution to the Senate explained why the Nigerian Law School should be insulated from the politics.
